Settings is the panel where you define how your workshop works: who gets in, how much an hour of machine time costs, which printers are connected and what other tools BolloPrint talks to.

It opens from the user menu, at the very bottom of the sidebar: click your name and choose Settings. Only Admins and Owners can see it.

The first time the owner signs in, an assistant walks them through the essentials of these settings step by step: see "Initial setup". Everything decided there can be changed here afterwards.

How it's organized

The sidebar has five groups, and each group brings together several sections.

General

The General section has three blocks: Default deadline, Default quote validity and Localization. Changes aren't saved on their own: click Save (it turns orange as soon as you touch something).

Default deadline

When you create a new order, BolloPrint works out the suggested deadline by adding to today the number of days you enter in the Days field. For example, if you set it to 5, an order created today proposes a deadline in 5 days.

You can change the date manually on each order — this is just the starting value.

Default quote validity

Below it is the quote validity, also in days. When you create a new quote, BolloPrint sets its validity date to today plus that many days (30 if you haven't touched it), and that date is printed on the PDF so the customer knows how long the offer is good for. As with the deadline, it's just the starting value: it can be changed on each quote. More in Quotes.

Neither of the two day fields can be left empty: if you clear it, it's marked in red with "Value required" until you type a number.

Localization

This block defines how information is shown to your workshop: in what language, on what clock and in what currency.

Interface language

Here you define the workshop's default language: the one everybody who hasn't chosen their own sees. You can change it whenever you want (Owner/Administrator only).

When the workshop is created, its language is set to the language the owner was using when they signed up. Only if that language isn't one BolloPrint offers is it left without a starting language; in that case, each person is shown their personal language (if they've chosen one), otherwise their browser's and, as a last resort, English.

How it combines with each person's preference:

• Every user can choose their own language from their user menu (Language). That personal choice wins for that person.
• The language you set here is what's seen by those who haven't chosen one of their own (for example, newly invited users).
• When you change the workshop language, it's applied automatically to everyone following the default. Those who had already chosen a personal language are not touched: we respect their choice.

In short: you set the workshop's general language; each person can personalize theirs and, if they do, theirs prevails.

Time zone

Choose your workshop's time zone. Every date and time you see in BolloPrint (orders, prints, comments, history…) is shown in this zone.

Underneath, BolloPrint always stores dates in universal time (UTC) and translates them into your zone when displaying them, so the change is immediate and doesn't alter any data: it only changes how things look. The time zone is also used to work out the cut-offs for the financial reports (what counts as "this month" or "this year"), so the totals line up with your real working day.

Currency

Choose your workshop's currency: Euro (€), Dollar ($), Pound (£) or Swiss franc (SFr). It's the currency all amounts are shown in: prices, costs, quotes, financials, etc.

Two important details:

• There's no currency conversion. BolloPrint doesn't convert amounts using exchange rates. The currency only changes the symbol and the format the numbers are shown in; the amounts you enter are the ones stored.
• The change only affects new records. If you change the currency, the orders, expenses, products, pieces and inventory that already existed keep the currency they were created with; from then on, new things use the chosen currency. That's why the usual thing is to set the currency when starting the workshop up and not change it once you have data.

Default costs (in Costs → Default values)

Although they're not in General, these values set the cost of everything you make, so it's worth reviewing them when setting up the workshop:

• Default margins: three fields in the same order as the bar below them: Red warning below, Orange warning below and Default margin (the one applied when creating a new Variant). The bar paints the three zones and marks where your margin falls, and an example line underneath tells you what a piece costing 10 € sells for.
• Default material cost: the price per kilo for each material type, with one table for Filament and another for Resin. There's no single price per family: PLA and TPU don't cost the same. When a piece doesn't use a material from your inventory with a cost, its "Cost/kg" starts here.
• Default finishes (Post-processed and Painted): what's added to the cost for each type of finish.
• Default extra costs (Packaging, Labour, Hardware, Inserts, Magnets): the recommended amount for each one and whether it's charged Per unit or Per build plate. When you add a concept to a piece, the amount is copied there.

Three things to bear in mind:

• If you never touch them, BolloPrint uses its default values: today, a 60 % margin (red below 40 %, orange below 50 %) and reference prices per type (for example, €18/kg for PLA, €35/kg for TPU or €30/kg for Standard resin). As soon as you save one of your own, yours applies.
• Pieces that already exist don't change on their own. Each piece keeps the cost it was calculated with. If what you changed is the hourly cost, the Recalculate button in Costs → Summary brings all pieces up to date at once (and the cost of their variants). For the price per kilo or the finish of a specific piece, open it and click the circular arrow next to the value to go back to automatic, or reassign its material.
• If the piece uses a material from your inventory with a cost, that price takes priority over the default value (we explain it in the Pieces manual).

Storage

In this section you see at a glance how much space your workshop is using and how much your plan includes. A colored bar sums it up:

• 🟢 Green — you have plenty of room left.
• 🟠 Amber (from 75%) — a warning: you're starting to approach the limit. A good moment for a clear-out.
• 🟠 Orange (from 90%) — nearly full: very little space left.
• 🔴 Red (at 100%) — full. From here new uploads are blocked until you free up space or upgrade your plan.

If your plan includes unlimited storage, the bar says so and there's no cap.

The breakdown

Below the bar you have the full breakdown, without opening anything:

• Three cards at the top:
  • Space used — what's used, what's available and your plan's total.
  • Designs — how much your 3D models take up (STL/3MF). It's almost always what uses the most space.
  • The rest — everything else, with a mini-bar splitting the space between Orders, Products, Expenses, Inventory and Other.
• Largest files: the ten that take up the most, from biggest to smallest. Each row says what it belongs to (a design, an order, a product…) and, if you click it, takes you straight to that item to review it or free up space.

The figures are calculated when you enter the section, so they always reflect what you have right now. If you deleted files and the space doesn't drop, the "Recalculate" button counts it again.

Running out of space?

When you approach the limit, BolloPrint warns you with a message at the top, and the owner gets a warning email once a month while you stay above 75%.

The first thing to be clear about is that the cap is a soft limit: even if you reach 100%, only new uploads are blocked. Everything you already have stored is kept intact and the rest of the application (orders, quotes, financials, inventory…) carries on working perfectly normally. You just won't be able to upload new files until you make room.

There are three ways to get space back:

• Delete the heaviest files. Look at your list of the 10 largest files: they're almost always 3D models (STL/3MF) from designs you no longer use. Click each row to go straight to that item and delete it. As soon as you delete, the counter drops on its own and, if you were blocked, it unblocks instantly — you don't have to wait for anything.
• Click "Recalculate". If you've just deleted several files and you see the space used isn't dropping as you expected, the "Recalculate" button is right there: it counts what you're really using again and brings the figure up to date.
• Upgrade your plan. If you need more space permanently, you can change plan from "My account" (on the web). Your new limit applies within seconds, with no waiting and nobody to notify.

Printers

This is where machines get connected. The day-to-day Printers section only displays them; registering, editing and removing them is done from here.

It's a single section with three tabs:

• Printers — the list of all your machines, however they connect, with the active / inactive switch. Only the active ones count towards your plan's limit.
• Local agent — your agents, what they've found on your network, and New agent to deploy another one.
• Bambu Cloud — connecting your manufacturer account to reach your Bambu machines through the cloud.

Above the tabs you'll see the notices that need you to do something: a machine waiting for authorization, an agent that needs updating, new printers on your network, or more active printers than your plan allows. Each notice has a button that takes you to where it gets fixed.

Subscription and billing aren't managed from here, but in "My account" (on the web), where you can see your plan, the storage included, update your card, download invoices or change plan. We explain it in the "Subscription and billing" document.
